Project: 18 and Beyond

Project 18 Years – Transforming Futures, Restoring Hope
In the Netherlands, many undocumented young people face an invisible and harsh reality: when they turn 18, they lose the right to continue formal education.
Without documentation, access to universities or real opportunities, many fall into a cycle of exclusion, fear, and hopelessness.
That’s why the Hope Gives created the "Project 18 Years" — an initiative for teenagers between 13 and 17 years old, offering them support, direction, and the tools to dream again.
Why does this project exist?
Most of these teenagers live in very vulnerable conditions:
▪ Sharing crowded rooms with their families
▪ Living in silence to “not attract attention”
▪ Growing up with the constant fear of deportation
▪ Carrying trauma and the certainty that once they turn 18, they have no future
This leads to school dropout, depression, addiction, abusive relationships, and sometimes illegal activities.
They give up before they even try.
Our Response: Psychological Support
